The Age of Adventurer..

Men are wont to suffer
And forget wherein they’ve sinned
Ne’er hearkening back on tragedies past
Lest the Twelve might humble them

Now coming this September a new series by Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIV Online, for PS3 and PC users.

The game will be Pay-To-Play (P2P) with a monthly fees of about £8.99/30 days. Players can buy additional characters for €3.00 (£2.10). However one character have the ability to choose any class they like and change anytime they want to.

Countless moons have waxed and waned since wandering tribes from across Hydaelyn first arrived in Eorzea and settled its untamed lands. The benevolent deities who ruled the empty continent and its surrounding islands were impressed with the resilience of these primitive men and women, and in an act of mercy each saw fit to ensure their welfare.

These gods and goddesses soon came to be known as the Twelve, and the villages thrived in their light until the land was bespeckled with several independent city-states. Though, where man walks, strife follows, and for generations, these tiny nations carved out a history of blood and betrayal built upon broken oaths and the sun-bleached bones of the fallen.

However, the fate of the land would soon change. Not fifteen years past, a new threat appeared without warning from the east. Metal-clad warriors brandishing weapons that spewed streams of fire, fleets of behemoth airships belching oily smoke that would block out the sun for days at a time… A resistance was amassed, but to little avail, and it was not long before Ala Mhigo, once considered the most powerful of the remaining six Eorzean city-states, had fallen to the mighty Garlean Empire.

As the empire’s dreadnaughts continued their march of terror across the blood-soaked fields of the north, the remaining nations put aside their differences and clandestinely joined hands to form a loose alliance to ensure they not meet the same fate, should the invaders turn their eyes southward.

Fortunately, the invasion never came, and just as quickly as it had arrived, the empire was gone again. However, echoes of their grim message rang clear in the hearts of Eorzea’s people—its effect on them, profound and irreversible. The realm would never be the same.

And it was thus that Eorzea slipped into the “Age of Calm,” during which an uneasy peace prevailed.

To prepare for the coming storm, the first task of the newly-formed alliance was to fortify their defenses. In the previous era, few city-states maintained organized militaries, opting instead to hire the services of mercenaries and hedge knights to champion their causes. However, after the fall of Ala Mhigo, city guard units were restructured into legitimate standing armies which could be quickly called upon and mobilized if the need arose.

Unfortunately, this left a majority of the realm’s hireswords with nowhere to pledge their fealty, and with their livelihood ripped out from under them, many of these men and women resorted to acts of villainy to survive. For fear of the situation worsening and the land falling into chaos, several respected leaders from around Eorzea gathered together and formed a network of guilds to provide these lost souls with the opportunity to redeem themselves by aiding others.

Through the foresight and resolve of these leaders a new industry known as “adventuring” emerged, its advent helping usher in the current era—an era of hope in a time when shadows of uncertainty loom ever closer.

[KLH Originals] Beach Splatter – Demo Mashup

After a long work of the coding, I now pronounce the release of Beach Splatter Demo.

Game Sypnosis:

This game was inspired with the recent KLH activity (Anniversary Party) which was held on the Beach (Muara). There everyone enjoyed a game that we organized, Water-balloon Battle. Not to mention that most of the people bullied a certain person. Anyhow, after seeing how enjoyed everyone in that game gave me the inspiration of making such game. “Beach Splatter” is a shoot ‘em up game where player have the privilege to splash people with water-balloon.

The game is however still under demo. The game ends if you scored 10,000 points. However several known bugs can be detected.

  • If you scored 700 points the game starts to lag.
  • Player’s Hit-Point never decrease.
  • Sudden disappear of enemy as soon as they’re clicked.

FEZ (Fantasy Earth Zero) Brief Intro

Hi all!

I’ve found another MMO to talk about, FEZ @ Fantasy Earth Zero. It debut for US  by SquareEnix, Jan 2010. It was welcomed with lots of competitions and Awesome giveaways. This MMO was created 2006-2007 in Japan.

Fantasy Earth Zero

In this MMO, you play as a recruit/enlistee for your own Kingdom. There’s the usual character creation and I think the limited number of characters is 3(but inactive ones are deleted at random times…sad). There’re 3 jobs: Warrior, Mage and Scout. I think there’s about 5 Kingdoms only, each with their own ruler, island, specialties and goals.

In the beginning of the game, you’re just a new and fresh low-level newbie.. –” Yes yes, and if you’d like to skip the long hours of training, hunting and killing monsters for EXP, you have the option to fight for your Kingdom straight away! And sweet, man! You level up straight to 16 if you do that ^^ VERY time saving!

Your role in the game is to protect your Kingdom’s territories from the other Kingdoms and of course, whenever possible, capture more. Enter your Kingdom’s wars to protect her territories from being captured by others. You can help other Kingdoms too(only nations not fighting with yours. Lol). Furthermore, the easiest way of getting EXP is by participating wars. It’s a rather repetitive game-play, if i may say so..but heck, I’m still playing it –” The war is better experienced by oneself. Briefly, enter a battlefield, you get some crystals, build buildings, destroy buildings, PK players, get PK’d, summon creatures, etc. After a victory or loss in a war, you’ll get money, a title(yes, like Private, OBmaster, etc), EXP as well as rings. (fyi, rings are needed to buy high-edge equipments & weapons)

The controls are rather complicated at first, in my opinion, and you’ll feel rather handicapped without a mouse. The camera controls are a nuisance sometimes.. The graphics are as usual, beautifully crafted…coming from SE, it’s not a surprise no more.. The artworks of the Kings’ and Queens’ portraits are nice and the BGM are sweeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttt~ Different BGM for different situations(near victory, PvE battles, etc) Don’t mind me, i usually favor a game for its BGM/OST =P

And to wrap things up, here’s a trailer of FEZ:

My Rating: Ambience: 6/10 || Graphics: 7/10 || Gameplay: 6/10 || Soundtrack: 8/10 || Overall: 6.8/10
That..wasn’t brief, huh? -.-”
